Read The Hair Loss Treatment
It may not be what we want but hair loss is quite a normal bodily function. Men, women and children can all be affected and many millions worldwide are, but the list of reasons for this occurrence is very long. The medical term for hair loss is Alopecia. The most common type of hair loss is called male pattern baldness and is responsible for nearly 95 percent of cases in men; it is also hereditary.

However, it may be that your diet needs attending to if your hair loss is only moderate. Exposure to chemicals or cosmetics, hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety and mental tension are some of the other causes. No matter what the reason, it is worth remembering that it is only if the hair follicles are damaged that can make the condition permanent. Often considered as a purely male problem, in America women actually make up forty percent of people that suffer with some form of the condition.
Hair loss is in fact more common with women as they age but it is often caused by a thyroid problem. Although the number of women sufferers in the USA may seem high this figure equates around the world and by the time a woman reaches sixty, she has a forty percent chance of having a problem. During and after a pregnancy is another time when women may experience a hair loss problem. Also surprisingly, it is not only men that suffer with hereditary baldness because in the USA, around 30 million women also suffer problem.
A relatively new treatment is to surgically restore hair for sufferers of permanent hair loss. Healthy hair follicles are transplanted from one area of the scalp to an area where the hair follicles have died. Today hair transplant surgical hair restoration is an out-patient procedure requiring only local anesthesia and is becoming one of the most popular procedures for men today. It is now possible for women to have hair transplants like men and is becoming increasingly popular for those women keen to hide scars from previous facelift surgery.
Remember that the best outcome of hair restoration is to restore your appearance insofar as possible, not change it to make you look like someone else. Before hair restoration is undertaken, the patient’s whole-body status must be considered and any underlying health problems addressed. Although hair restoration is considered a cosmetic treatment, there are different aspects involved it and must not be confused with other types of cosmetic procedure. Although the field of hair restoration treatment continues to move forward with new discoveries, there is no guarantee that any will work for you and surgical hair transplants might be your only option to solving your hair loss problem.
