Are You Looking for Hair Transplant?
Many years ago, people were hesitant to choose to undergo any type of hair transplant although this is not true today, as procedures have improved. A benefit of current procedures is that you can not always tell when someone has undergone one because their bad hair plugs are not obvious. Though there have been many improvements in techniques, this does not mean that the public completely understand the procedures.
A large percentage of men have balding issues: In fact, 50 percent of American men that are 50 years old or over are dealing with some amount of hair loss. There is a definite need to deal with hair loss for these men and some do it by shaving themselves. More and more, however, there are men who go the route of hair transplant surgery. A third option is to acknowledge the hair loss and do nothing about it, however, the people who do this are not keeping up with the rest of the world in this regard.
Many people do not understand the significance or permanence of having a surgical procedure. Not only will your head may never look the same, you will require a number of surgical treatments. You should never accept any doctor’s offer for a few hair grafts to see if you like it before a full hair transplant surgery because once you begin, here is no turning back.
Despite it being a major procedure, many people think that after hair transplant surgery, they can just jump back into their old routine but this is not true, regardless of the simplicity of the procedure. The fact that it was their scalp having the procedure, and not any major muscle or bone causes many people to think the surgery was not a major one. In actuality, you have many small wounds following surgery and you’ll need to protect those wounds.
At a time span of one to two years, the time required to undergo hair transplant surgery is not a small one. Many people choose to undergo mega-sessions - a procedure in which thousands of grafts are added in one sitting. However, the length of these sessions is often grueling and requires commitment.
In addition to hair transplant surgery, there are other procedures it may have to be combined with so if you do not have enough hair, you cannot undergo the procedure. There are other surgeries that can help produce a similar result that can be used in conjunction. The difference is that these procedures are generally more painful.
Hair transplant surgery does not guarantee the survival of every graft, though your doctor may not tell you this. Ideally, you can hope that only a small number of grafts will be lost. In actuality, however, many grafts simply do not make it.
Most people think that hair transplant treatments are outrageously expensive, but the cost might not be as much as you think with around 12,000 dollars being a typical cost. If you die at age 70 after having the procedure done for 40 years, then your average cost for the treatment would be 25 dollars per month, or 300 per year. Twenty-five dollars per month is much more than many so-called low cost hair loss treatments cost. You would actually save by getting the surgery done in the first place.
